MC also offers an accelerated BSN program designed for individuals who already have a bachelor’s degree in another field and want to become a registered nurse in a shorter time frame. In this program, you’ll dive straight into nursing courses, focusing on essential nursing skills and knowledge. The accelerated pace allows you to complete your BSN degree in 4 semesters instead of the traditional 4 years. It’s a fast-paced and intensive program that prepares you for the challenges and rewards of a nursing career in a condensed timeline.

Students interested in entering the nursing program must first apply to and be accepted by Mississippi College.
After being accepted into Mississippi College, you will need to submit an application for the School of Nursing program.
In order to be considered for continuation in clinical courses in the School of Nursing, students should submit a completed application to the School of Nursing before the following dates.

The Admissions and Progression Committee of the School of Nursing meets after those dates to affirm all academically qualified students for the following semester. Each application is evaluated individually with respect to the individual's potential for academic success in the nursing major. Special consideration is given to the following items:
Students who are evaluated and did not meet required benchmarks may submit a written request to be considered and re-evaluated with the next semester's students. Academically qualified students are issued a conditional offer pending successful completion of the criteria for acceptable criminal background check, drug screen, health clearance, and other entry requirements essential for entry into clinical placement experiences.
The requirements for admission to the Accelerated B.S.N. (second degree) program are:
Specific prerequisite competencies and the MC School of Nursing "Transition to Nursing Practice" course (ALH 250) must be met in order to fulfill nursing expectations, and within one calendar year of clinical program start. ALH 250 is available online for ABSN students and priority registration places (Fall, Spring, or Summer) are given to students the semester PRIOR to the expected program startup. ABSN students who do not have a Bible course are recommended to take either Old Testament or New Testament ahead of their clinical courses.
Students interested in pursuing Latin Honors must earn 65 MC credit hours and need to be aware of this when selecting pre-requisite courses, as transfer hours do NOT address this requirement.
In order to be considered for enrollment in the ABSN program, students should submit a completed application to the School of Nursing before the following dates.

All applicants are directed to apply via NursingCAS, a centralized application service endorsed by The American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
ABSN applicants taking the admission exam need to contact the SON office for testing instructions.
Please contact the Office of Global Education at Mississippi College if you have any questions about MC or student visa arrangements. World Education Services (WES) transcript verification is a required element of your application with NursingCAS and you will be required to submit WES verification of all international transcripts. All international transcripts must be submitted in English via the World Education Services. Contact the World Education Services and direct them to submit all translated transcripts to NursingCAS.
